The Perspective :

A Tribute To Harriet Tubman and the slaves she rescued and the slaves she could not.

The title "Trouble Them Waters" is a reference to the song " Wade In The Water" which relates to both the Old and New Testaments. The verses reflect the Israelites' escape out of Egypt as found in Exodus 14.[2] The chorus refers to healing: see John 5:4, "For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he or she had." For many slaves , Harriet Tubman was that angel.

Harriet Tubman (born into slavery Araminta Ross, March 1822 – March 10, 1913) was an American abolitionist and political activist. In 1849,Tubman escaped to Philadelphia, only to return to Maryland to rescue her family using the network of antislavery activists and safe houses known as the Underground Railroad. Slowly, one group at a time, she brought relatives with her out of the state, and eventually guided dozens of other enslaved people to freedom.
